Informed Consent v1.0

Telemedicine Informed Consent

This policy explains how telemedicine services operate on the PUGA TRINICARE platform and outlines your rights and responsibilities.

1. Definition of Telemedicine

Telemedicine refers to the delivery of healthcare services through digital communication technologies, allowing patients and healthcare providers to consult remotely without being physically present in the same location.

2. Nature of Services

Consultations involve video conferencing, secure messaging, and digital health record sharing. While telemedicine improves access, it may not be appropriate for every condition. Providers may recommend in-person evaluation.

3. Patient Acknowledgment

By using these services, patients acknowledge that consultations occur through digital channels, physical exams are limited, and diagnosis depends on the accuracy of information provided by the patient.

4. Privacy & Confidentiality

PUGA TRINICARE maintains strict privacy in accordance with the Nigeria Data Protection Act. All communications are protected using secure encryption and access control protocols.
